How to solve any kind of life problem
The 6 Dragons Kung Fu's Method to solve problems
Reconnecting to the previous article (read Accept problems to find solutions) we see now a simple, effective and "scientific" method to solve any kind of life problem:
In the 6DKF's Method, there are no magic tricks, only a rational mindset
Sometimes what stop us from winning is only the absence of the will to act systematically
Probably not all problems can be solved with a "formula" but, most of them, surely can
Most of the times, our efforts will result in a triumph
Each time we will become more strong, experienced and skilled
A note by Master Kongling - I do not know how you will interpret these indications but I want to tell you that I have used this method a lot of times in my life (from the smallest informatic unforeseen to more serious personal difficulties) and it has always worked, it's for this reason that I have decided to share it with you.
1. Evaluate the size of the problem
The first thing to evaluate is the incidence of the problem in our life. Let's write on a paper or (better) on a digital device the answers to the subsequent questions:
Is the problem really worthy of our attention (and of the necessary effort to solve it)?
Cannot the problem be safely ignored or is it crucial (is it expanding or shrinking)?
Are there any chances of success? Has anyone already succeeded?
Are the possible advantages in solving the problem greater than the sure disadvantages / risks in dealing with it?
If we have positively replied to these questions let's proceed, otherwise let's think about it another time (is it possible that we are already done).
2. What we need to solve the problem
Is our level of competence enough high in the specific sector?
Are we sure we are able to expand our knowledge to such an extent that we can solve the problem ourselves?
What resources (tools, materials, money, etc.) and skills do we need?
Can we directly obtain what we need to know, have and understand or do we have to go through other steps?
If we have understood what we need we can proceed otherwise we have to collect all the necessary information ( filtering the least reliable sources).
3. Who we need to solve the problem
Who should we ask for professional help (or suggestions about professional help)?
Is there anybody who has already effectively solved our problem (or an extremely similar one)?
In terms of time, resources and effectiveness, is it wiser to take action first person or to ask for help?
Are we going to expose ourselves to risks working alone? Do we have a choice?
If we have obtained a profitable consultation and / or put together the people we need, we can proceed.
4. Preventive assessments
How much time do we imagine we will need to solve the problem (how many hours per day)?
Who has already succeeded how long has it taken?
Are there any fast but viable and already tested solutions?
Are we able to act with determination (discipline, concentration and preparation) every day until the end?
How can we train / expand our mind and body in view of the solution of the problem and of the forced passages that this entails?
Let's delimit the time that we will dedicate to the problem (limiting it with a calculation of the time necessary and the time that we can dedicate it lucidly)
Let's move on to the working plan.
5. The working plan
Let's isolate the problem and let's study it with the resources we have chosen (tools, people, etc.)
Let's test / investigate the problem occurrence (trying not to make it worse)
Is the problem only occurring with us and / or in our conditions? How do other people deal with it?
Let's analyze the results obtained (also assessing their reliability)
Let's write a list of possible solutions (based on the idea of not forcibly "remove" the problem but to solve its worst effects)
In this phase, we have passed from an insurmountable problem to a list of possible solutions, let's go on.
6. Testing the possible solutions
Let's order the solutions starting with the most fast and the probably effective ones
Let's start with the first solution, the second and so on without losing even a minimum part of our determination
Let's act methodically, following the steps and directives of the best professionals of the sector we are operating
We need the right mental energy to succeed; when the mind has abandoned us, it is harmful to insist (sleep, sport, distractions, fun and outburst help a lot)
If no one of the solutions provided is working we have to return to step 2 10, 100, 1000 times, each of them will come with more knowledge, data and skills
If we have found a solution we have to check its functionality.
7. Check the results
If this does not involve collateral damages, let's evaluate the validity and durability of the solutions with counter-tests (writing detailed notes about them)
Let's re-analyze the absence of all the individual problems (the central one and the eventual collaterals) one by one evaluating if the results are truly satisfactory
Let's wait a reasonable time to check if the problem is completely solved, if it is not we have to go back to step 2
Let's do not give in to despair over failings (each error must be written to do not be repeated, each of them is a new step in direction of our goal)
If finally, we have found a definitive solution the process is not already ended.
8. Store our work
Let's keep the scheme, the tests carried out, the data and above all the solutions (let's isolate / duplicate / secure all that can be preserved)
Our work could be useful again (for us, for others or even as a trophy, as a demonstration that we are able to manage our life)
In some cases solving a problem can also turn into an unexpected opportunity (the possibility to sell / share the solution, to tell our story in a book, to make available to others the skills we have acquired, etc.)
Now we have really finished. This way we have drawn the maximum benefit from an otherwise totally negative stall situation.
In the next article of this series, we will see a simple and comfortable scheme (to be filled) to facilitate the application of the 6 Dragons Kung Fu's Problem Solving Method.
